Shelby is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate and Licensed Marriage and Family-Associate who has a passion for working with children, individuals, couples, and families. She graduated with her master’s from the Marriage and Family Therapy program from Sam Houston State University. Shelby truly believes in the power of family and social systems. She takes a Humanistic approach, guided by Existential Therapy with a Person-Centered/Emotional focus. She incorporates many other styles and techniques including Gottman Couples Therapy, Gestalt Techniques, DBT and TF-CBT techniques when appropriate. She also does play therapy with young children.  Shelby believes that counseling is best served when the clients can take the sessions in whatever direction benefits them.

When she’s not at work, she enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and very energetic 3-year-old. She also loves binging TV Shows/Movies, being outdoors/in water, listening to audio books, and DIY/Cricut projects.
