Sometimes life throws you challenges that feel too heavy to carry alone. Maybe your relationship feels stuck. Maybe anxiety is taking over. Maybe you’re going through a transition and can’t quite find your footing. Whatever brings you here, you don’t have to figure it out by yourself.

Shayla is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who believes deeply in the power of connection – both the therapeutic relationship you build with her and the relationships in your life that shape your mental health. She knows we’re all social beings, and that family dynamics, romantic relationships, friendships, and community all play a role in how we feel and function.

How Shayla Works

There’s no cookie-cutter approach here. Shayla draws from different therapeutic styles and tailors her methods to what you actually need. She creates a safe, non-judgmental space where you can be honest about what’s hard. Her approach emphasizes building practical skills – coping strategies, communication tools, emotional regulation – that empower you to find clarity and move forward.

Shayla works with teens, adults, and couples dealing with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, personality disorders, relationship conflicts, communication breakdowns, and life transitions. Whether you’re navigating a rocky patch in your marriage, struggling with your mental health, or figuring out who you are in a new chapter of life, Shayla brings both clinical expertise and genuine warmth to the work.

Experience That Counts

Shayla has worked in community mental health settings where she saw couples, teens, individuals, and families facing a wide range of challenges. She’s trained in the Gottman Method (Levels 1 and 2), which means she brings evidence-based approaches to helping couples navigate conflict and strengthen their relationships.

Who Shayla Is

When she’s not working, Shayla is spending time with her very large dog, her family, and friends. She’s usually in the middle of a good book or binge-watching a series worth talking about. She gets it – life is messy, relationships are complicated, and sometimes you just need someone who understands and can help you find a way through.
