Telehealth Only – Limited Availability
Finding a therapist who combines solid expertise with genuine flexibility isn’t always easy. You want someone who knows what works but also adapts to what works for you specifically. Someone who takes the work seriously without making it feel rigid or formulaic.
Jenny is a Licensed Professional Counselor who sees therapy as a journey you take together. She’s a lifelong learner who values evidence-based practices – the approaches that research shows actually help – but she’s also creative and strengths-based, willing to think outside the box to meet your specific needs and preferences. That combination means you get effective treatment that’s also practical and, yes, even fun.
Jenny’s Background and Approach
Jenny brings a unique perspective shaped by diverse experience. She holds a bachelor’s degree in American Sign Language-English Interpreting and Deaf Studies from Maryville College and a master’s degree in Professional Counseling with a specialization in Rehabilitation Counseling from Stephen F. Austin State University. She’s also a certified sign language interpreter in Texas and a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor.
These credentials give her a holistic view of the people she works with. She understands disability, accessibility, communication barriers, and how systems impact individuals in ways many therapists haven’t encountered. This perspective informs everything she does.
Who Jenny Works With
Jenny has worked with adults, adolescents, children, couples, and families from all kinds of backgrounds and life situations. Her experience includes grief counseling, adjustment to disability, serious mental illness, social and vocational challenges, learning disabilities, acquired brain injuries, anxiety, depression, communication issues, end-of-life counseling, and life-stage transitions.
Whether you’re navigating a major life change, dealing with loss, managing mental health challenges, or working through relationship issues, Jenny brings both expertise and adaptability to the work.
Telehealth and Availability
Jenny provides telehealth sessions exclusively, serving clients anywhere in Texas. Because she works full-time at a university counseling center, her availability at Lake Conroe Counseling Center is limited. If you’re looking for her specific combination of skills and her flexible, evidence-based approach, it’s worth reaching out to see if her schedule aligns with yours.
Who Jenny Is
When she’s not working, Jenny is outdoors as much as possible – camping, hiking, running, or biking. She also loves crafting, reading, discovering new music, and settling in for a good Netflix series. She brings that same energy and curiosity to her work with clients.
