Helping children find their voice and adults rediscover their peace.

We welcome Elizabeth Boysel to our team beginning in August 2025.  Elizabeth is a Counseling Student Intern currently pursuing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Sam Houston State University, where she is also earning a certificate in Play Therapy.  She is passionate about supporting families—walking alongside both children and adults as they face life’s challenges, build emotional awareness, and grow in confidence and connection.

Through her internship experience, Elizabeth has worked with adults navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship concerns. She creates a warm, approachable space where clients feel genuinely heard, supported, and empowered—whether they’re beginning therapy for the first time or returning after some time away.

Elizabeth has a special passion for working with children. She uses developmentally appropriate, play-based techniques that allow kids to communicate in a way that feels natural and safe. She believes that play is a child’s first language, and through it, she helps children develop emotional regulation, confidence, independence, and stronger social skills. Elizabeth is especially dedicated to working with neurodivergent children, including those with ADHD and autism, and is committed to creating a space where every child feels accepted, respected, and free to be themselves.

Her therapeutic style is grounded in Adlerian theory and person-centered care, always guided by compassion, curiosity, and deep respect for each client’s unique story. She also values working closely with parents and caregivers, recognizing the vital role they play in the healing and growth process.

Outside of the counseling room, Elizabeth enjoys spending time with loved ones, binge-watching her favorite TV shows, and caring for her dog and two cats.

She considers it an honor to support children and families on their journey toward healing, connection, and well-being.
