If you have concerns about the professional conduct of a therapist at Lake Conroe Counseling Center, you have the right to file a complaint with the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC). The BHEC regulates and licenses marriage and family therapists, professional counselors, psychologists, and social workers in Texas.
How to File a Complaint
Complaints must be submitted using the BHEC’s official complaint form. You can obtain and submit the form by:
Email: Enforcement@bhec.texas.gov
Mail: Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council
1801 Congress Avenue, Suite 7.300
Austin, Texas 78701
Phone (General Information): 1-800-821-3205
What to Expect
When you file a complaint with the BHEC, the council will review your submission to determine if it falls within their jurisdiction. If your complaint is accepted, both you and the therapist will be notified of the investigation. The BHEC aims to complete investigations within six to twelve months, though more complex complaints may take longer.
Both parties are periodically notified of the status during the investigation. The complaint file remains confidential throughout the process.
