We’re excited to welcome Alexis Harbin to our team as an LPC Associate. Alexis recently completed her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University and is committed to walking alongside individuals on their healing journey, offering support, presence, and encouragement every step of the way.
Who She Is
Her path into the counseling field began while she was teaching high school in an underserved community, where it left a lasting impression. Alexis saw the emotional weight many students and families were often carrying in silence and felt a deep calling to support people in a more personal and lasting way. In addition to her work in education, Alexis has been a successful entrepreneur for over 20 years, running her own hair business where meaningful conversations and human connection have always been at the heart of what she does. She also co-owns a pest control business with her husband. These experiences have helped shape her strengths in listening deeply, building trust, and supporting people in meaningful ways.
How She Works
In her counseling practice, Alexis takes a person-centered approach, creating a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to express themselves and grow at their own pace. She integrates mindfulness techniques to help clients manage anxiety, reconnect with themselves, and find calm during life’s challenges. Throughout her training, Alexis has worked closely with trauma survivors and understands that healing extends beyond the individual. Families, friends, and loved ones are often impacted, and she holds space for those connections in the therapeutic process.
Coffee and Conversation
Alexis offers “Coffee and Conversation” early morning appointments starting at 6:00 AM for clients who want to prioritize their mental health before the workday begins. These sessions provide a peaceful, grounded start to your day—helping you gain clarity and calm before diving into your responsibilities.
Outside the Office
Alexis is happily married and shares her life with her husband and their two dogs. Together, they love traveling, especially to beach destinations where they can recharge and reflect.
