Joni Villemez-Comeaux, M.A., LPC Intern, LCDC

Joni Villemez-Comeaux  specializes in and is most passionate about bringing awareness and healing to the underlying foundation of all manifestations of disordered eating, as well as other addictions, and serving those in the process of grief. Joni is skilled in guiding clients to a stronger sense of Self by guiding clients to squeeze all the learning out of painful life situations for the purpose of letting go, moving on and regaining personal freedom and empowerment. She also loves to be of service to those who struggle with anxiety, depression, co-dependency and unresolved trauma. Joni is well-versed in guiding to resolution, family estrangement, Religious resentment and Spiritual abuse.

Joni has vast life experience, including 8 years serving in both female and male prisons as a counselor and Program Director with the Rehabilitation Programs Division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. These experiences served to reinforce Joni’s ability to relate to people in all stages of their life’s journey, truly seeing and guiding their authentic Self to the surface. Her experience as a certified parenting instructor lended much to her past experience as a Youth Counselor at a local non-profit agency. Joni also has an immense amount of knowledge and experience as a Spiritual explorer, bringing over 25 years experience in digging and discarding unconscious beliefs that keep us “stuck”, be it in the area of love, relationships or career. Joni is gifted with a fun, dynamic personality and the ability to experience the best in most everyone she meets and can think of no higher calling than guiding and participating in the healing of individuals, couples and families. Joni’s great loves in life include family, travel, volunteering, hiking and hearing the sound of people laughing!

Joni is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, a National Board Certified Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern supervised by Ruth Stitt, LPC-S. She obtained her Bachelor of Applied Arts and Science from Lamar University and Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Sam Houston State University.
