(She/Her)
We welcome Alexis Harbin to our team beginning in May 2025. Alexis is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University. She is committed to walking alongside individuals on their healing journey, offering support, presence, and encouragement every step of the way.
Her path into the counseling field began while she was teaching high school in an underserved community, where it left a lasting impression. Alexis saw the emotional weight many students and families were often carrying in silence and felt a deep calling to support people in a more personal and lasting way. In addition to her work in education, Alexis has been a successful entrepreneur for over 20 years, running her own hair business where meaningful conversations and human connection have always been at the heart of what she does. She also co-owns a pest control business with her husband. These experiences have helped shape her strengths in listening deeply, building trust, and supporting people in meaningful ways.
In her counseling practice, Alexis takes a person-centered approach, creating a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to express themselves and grow at their own pace. She integrates mindfulness techniques to help clients manage anxiety, reconnect with themselves, and find the calm during life’s challenges. Throughout her internship experience, Alexis has worked closely with trauma survivors and understands that healing extends beyond the individual. Families, friends, and loved ones are often impacted, and she holds space for those connections in the therapeutic process.
Outside of counseling, Alexis is happily married and shares her life with her husband and their two dogs. Together, they love traveling, especially to beach destinations where they can recharge and reflect.
